At UFC 101 Kenny Florian the Lightweight contender to BJ Penn’s championship will have his second opportunity to win the gold at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and as he has reeled off 6 straight victories to get back at this point in his career once again has had the support of Penn’s arch nemesis and current UFC Welterweight champion Georges ‘Rush’ St-Pierre who is also in the process of preparing for his big title fight against Thiago Alves next Saturday night at UFC 100, but believes that ‘Ken-Flo’ will take home the gold.

While speaking with MMAWeekly.com in an exclusive interview St-Pierre who has been working with Florian up in Montreal, Canada says that the Lightweight number 1 contender has been looking great and would put money on him to defeat BJ Penn.

“I’ve trained with him two times and he looked really sharp. I put my money on him against B.J. Penn,” St. Pierre stated. Kenny Florian is a great training partner, and is going to be a great champion, and he’s also a greater person and human being (than B.J. Penn),” said St. Pierre.
St-Pierre was then asked as to what was Florian’s gameplan for ‘The Prodigy’ and like any good training partner St-Pierre could not say, but that Florian will have a very strong gameplan on August 8.

“A lot of things, but they are part of his gameplan so I can’t talk too much about it,” St. Pierre commented about what Florian will bring into the fight against Penn. “It basically consists of using his strength and putting it against his opponent’s weaknesses.”
And when asked if St-Pierre was going to be on hand to watch the UFC 101 main event, St-Pierre said “I would like to see that.” But with the rivalry he has with Penn I would expect the Welterweight champion to be there.
