The man on the left, Forrest Griffin, fights at light heavyweight (205-pounds). The man on the right, Roy Nelson, fights at heavyweight (265-pounds).

Seriously.

It appears as though "Big Country" has finally done what UFC President Dana White has long implored him to and dropped a few calories from that famous belly of his.

It was a necessary step in Nelson's career. Increasing heat from both his employers and his fans coupled with a two fight losing streak left him little choice in the matter. We'll see how much his new diet and training regimen has paid off when he squares off against Mirko Filipovic at UFC 137 this Sat., Oct. 29, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Is the new look Nelson headed for bigger and better things (figuratively speaking, of course)?

This is what I have been hoping would happen. Can you imagine if he made it to 205? He would be in line for a title shot in a heartbeat! I really hate to see CroCop go but he is seriously in for it with Roy. Not like Schaub who just wants to call out aging guys, WAY past their prime ( aside from Big Nog who is young but been in WARS for the last ten years and also knocked him the fuck out ) I'm ready to see him get serious and make a run for a belt. I can't wait to see this fight!

Wow!  YA I was hoping that he'd drop some weight.  I hope he can get to a better weight to be a bit more explosive in the fights!
