Before this past Saturday night’s “Ultimate Chaos” main event bout Bobby Lashley made it clear that he wanted to compete a few more times this year and he was not joking about it either as the former WWE superstar has already booked a fight on September 26 with the same promotion known as Prize Fight MMA that put together Saturday night’s card from Biloxi, Mississippi.
According to Ariel Helwani for MMAFanhouse.com Lashley and his camp at American Top Team have already agreed to compete under the Prize Fight MMA banner once again even though a venue, location or opponent is yet to be announced.
Bobby Lashley now standing in at an MMA record of 4-0 only needed mid-way through the first round to get past ‘The Beast’ where he immediately shot in for the takedown and utilized his ground and pound until the referee came in to stop the fight, so Lashley did the smart thing by not testing Sapp’s power and most importantly not giving him the chance to do so in the process.
“Going up against Bob,” Lashley said after the fight, “you always expect the big bulls. I had to take him down, cover and pound. The first thing is to win: ground-and-pound to wear the big man down. He has a big punch. I used my ground-and-pound and got out of there.”
Lashley continues to make an effort to improve every aspect of his game and it is showing and rest assured some promotions will be looking to scout the former pro-wrestler and help make him become a big draw down the line and the good thing is Lashley is not looking down the road either, he is doing the right thing by taking it one fight at a time with the end result possibly showing that it will pay off.
