Hi there, I'm from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, born in april of 1976, 6'3", 250 lbs (with a good 20 pound of fat lol), trained a bit in BJJ, Kick Boxing and Muy Thai and then more seriously in Aikibudo, Silat and now Tai Chi Chen (the old frame of martial taichi that focus on spiral chain muscles, structure, getting lower and many other things (needed to specify this because of all the prejudices with taichi)).
I see mma as a scientific lab where I can analyse people strength and weaknesses but to me, it's still and always will be a simulation for my real interest in martial art is more, in my soul, aligned with my military grandfathers. And so I can't really study any martial art seriously without having in mind the kill, which isn't the case with mma being closer to a show, a business, with very limited damage inflicted. For example, I'm bored of always seeing weak chins and lousy BJJ giving there neck because it values too much stricking certain points (while avoiding others more lethal and so more realistic). This said, I still love mma for as says the UFC's motto: it's "as" real as it gets (without killing or hurting too much the guy (let's stay civilized!
